The Daughter of France's First Lady is Cool with Having a Sex Scandal Teacher for a Mom

SourceThe daughter of France’s first lady says she was about 9 years old when she first learned of the relationship between her mother and now French President Emmanuel Macron – when he was just 15 years old and she was a teacher at his high school.

Tiphaine Auzière, now 34, said her mother Brigitte Macron, 65, and the future French leader were “quite smitten.” …

“And it was quite obvious between them and very difficult,” she said in the documentary, “Brigitte Macron: A French Novel,” which aired Wednesday, The Telegraph reported.

The documentary, for which the first lady declined to be interviewed but reportedly gave her blessing, said that the French president told his teacher that he loved her as a teenager. His parents reportedly asked Brigitte Macron, who at the time went by Brigitte Auzière, to stop seeing their son until he turned 18.

“I can’t promise you anything,” she reportedly told the parents.

The two stayed in contact with one another over the next 13 years after Macron went to school in Paris.

They married in 2007 after her divorce to ex-husband André-Louis Auzière, a banker.

Auzière said her mother and the French president were deeply in love.

“If I have to give a vision of love, it’s Emmanuel and mom,” she said. “When they are together, it is almost as if the world doesn’t exist.”

It seems we still have a lot to learn from the French. Sure, we’re way ahead of them when it comes to a lot of very important things. Movies, music, sports, military affairs, the roominess of our bathing suits and pants. But they are still generations ahead of us when it comes to food, art, wine and sex. And in particular, Teacher Sex.

Granted, we’re trying to make up ground, one SST at a time. But this proves we still have a long, long way to go. I’ve written before about Brigette Macron, meeting her future husband/president when she was married with kids and he was her 15-year-old drama student. But this is the first I’ve heard from one of her children. And you can’t help but respect the maturity of this attractive young woman. The understanding. The acceptance. Her utter … Frenchness.

If someone ran for public office in America with his ex-teacher/spouse by his side, his candidacy would never make it passed the vetting process. The voters would hate him. And it would only be a matter of time before the children she ditched would be all over the news, talking about how betrayed and abandoned they felt. But not my girl Tiphaine Auzière. Where American kids would see something abhorrent and scandalous, she sees romance. Which is a very enlightened, progressive attitude for a girl who watched her mom run off to bang a kid who was six grades ahead of her. But that, in a nutshell, are the French. And while I’ll still give the edge to Ivanka Trump purely in the looks department, Tiphaine might have just become my favorite First Daughter in the world today. Vive le France!
